Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JU.2ADI/593.1 Message Board Post: I cannot seem to gt the Perry co mailing list to work, so I'll post this here. I also am seeking info about Phoebe Lee Rhodes, her family and her relation to Robert Washington Lee. Robert was living with a William Rhodes in the 1850 Perry county, Al census. Wiliam Rhodes was a relative of Moses Rhodes. I have contact with a Rhodes desc. that has a lot of info, including a copy of Moses Rhodes' bible, from when they were in either Hale or Greene counties. Robert married a Margaret Rhodes in Green co in 1851. I believe Robert had come from N.C., maybe Bertie co. Trying to find any/all info on all this Lee line. Also Rhodes as these families may have traveled together. Thanks for any help, Randy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JU.2ADI/232.245.242.250.1.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi David & Brenda. I've been getting these messages from both of you through my email so I will join in the conversation. We just returned from Morgan Co., Ga and found Reuban Radford's gravesite. It has a Revolutionary War marker which I took pictures of and will post on the Mitchell Family website as soon as I get them developed. Finding the gravesite was quite an experience because we had to drive down an old log road with huge mud puddles and then walk on some hunting land that was planted in thick pines. But we found it thinks ta a very nice hunter who was in the vicinity and pointed us in the right direction. The site had a wrought iron fence around the Radford graves but there were numerous graves without markers all around the site. You could tell they were graves because of the sunken shapes. Anyway, on our way home we went by Wallace Community College in Hanceville, Al. and all I can say is if you haven't been you need to. It is on the 5th & 6th floors of the college library and even though you have to do your own research you can get death certificates and other government records for the price of a 25 cent copy. I got many death certificates and also a copy of where Lucy Mitchell had applied for her widows pension from her husband's (Francis Mitchell) time in the Civil War and it stated that he did die from complications related to the war. We may not know for sure if it is our Francis buried at Corinth Civil War Cemetery yet but we do know he did not come home from the war. Another Francis Mitchell die in the war (I found his widow's pension papers also).so that is why we are not sure which one is buried there. I also have something new I found on Reuban Radford's wife's (Hackworth) line if anyone is interested.
