My G-grandfather Jonathan 'White Sims was born 1835 in Morgan Co., Alabama to David Sims who in turn was born 1816 in Tenn. David was one of six sons of Joel Sims of SC>Tenn>Alabama. Joel's wife, Eliz. McGlathery Sims, was of the David McGlathery family in Laurens SC. Joel and Eliz. had married in SC before migrating to Tenn. Jonathan White Sims's mother was Nancy Hodges Fuller, b 1817, whose family was of Greenville SC. with a migration route through the Carolinas with a stop in Ga. Nancy Fuller's was of the Wm. Hodges family. Wm. Hodges was in the north Alabama area as early as 1810. Nancy Hodges Fuller married Jonathan Fuller 1804 in Ga. and moved near her brother John Hodges in SC before moving near Somerville, Alabama circa 1831. THE Question ... it seems that everyone in the Sims and Fuller lineages were named for relatives ... often with the middle name reflecting the surname of the namesake ... as we have no known ties to a White family, does anyone know of any White family ties to the Sims or Fuller families of Morgan or Blount Co., Alabama in the 1820's or 1830's?
