    1. [ALMORGAN] JOHNSON---MORGAN CO---1820-1850
    2. Seeking any information on John JOHNSON, b 1780-90 prob TN, parents unk. John m. twice: 1st wife unk; m. 2nd Lovie Pullen @1820 prob TN. Father of John, according to a set of pre 1923 notes, was from VA, immigrated from England, was Rev War Vet: after the war, he migrated to E. TN, raised a large family of boys, lost his land in some sort of title dispute and "he and some of his family moved to NE AL where he shortly died". This move to AL was probably as early as 1820. I believe I have located this John JOHNSON on 1840 Jackson Co AL census (pg. 56). But I may be in error on that. At any rate, my records state that John JOHNSON ran a grist mill on Sand Mountain. He ground "parched" corn for the Indians to use on their trip west: this would probably have been in the 1830's. Cannady Johnson: (son of John) b. Feb 1810, prob TN. Cannady was m. 10 March 1832, Morgan Co AL to Lodicia Minerva Hankins. (marriage executed by Joseph W. Ryan, J.P.). Pension Records: William JOHNSON (son of John) state he was b. 8 March 1823, Morgan Co AL. He m. 21 July 1845 in Trenton, Dade Co GA, Obedience Hatchet Clark. Death Certificate: Lodicia Frances Johnson: (dau of Cannady & Lodicia) states she was b. 2 July 1844 in Morgan Co AL. This extended family lived in No AL for about 30 years. They migrated to MO in various stages @1850. I am very interested to make contact with anybody who has information on this JOHNSON family, location of the grist mill, or any other item that may concern them. Have researched this family for over 40 years and have never been able to move back a generation from my John. Have much information on the family and will fall over myself to exchange info with connecting persons! Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Judy Johnson Erickson TX
