I am working on transcribing the 1900 census of Morgan Co., to be posted on the GENWEB site. I have run into an interesting problem and hope that a lister can help set me straight. At the bottom of page 161A and the top of 161B are listed the following Morrow family Head George Morrow b. Apr 1855 Wife Jennie b. Feb 1862 Son Ples B. Dec 1881 Dau Bessie? b. 1886 Son Davis b. Dec 1897 Dau Willie b. 1891 Son Robert b. Feb 1894 Dau Mollie b. Feb 1896 Son (Not Named) b. Aug 1891 The Problem? The first three are listed as White. All the remainder , on the next page are listed as black. In the Morgan Co., cemetery Book Vol 1, page 64 I find Ples buried in Somerville cemetery b. 11/22/1830, d. 9/24/1925. ON page 65 is listed Davis Vet Alabama, Pvt. 1cl, 24th Service Batt'n d. 4/27/1922. does anyone know of this family? White or Black? was Somerville cemetery integrated? Earnie R.
