Hi, Sandra, As I work on my families, I find mention of slaves in wills, etc. I will be happy to copy the info for your list, but my info may be a duplication of what you already have. Most of my info comes from the Internet. I just suspect you have exhausted the info on the Internet. You may be interested in the following which is given in info I received from a Bible belonging to a James Robinson . I am copying it exactly as I received it: "Death of an Old Slave" "The following obituary is found in the _Rising Sun_, published in Newberry, S.C. issue of July 28, 1858, page 2: Cook Lucy, the servant of Maximilian Haynie (commonly known as the Astronomer Haynie), died at the residence of his grandson, Wm. H. Ruff, in Newberry District, on the 30th of June last, in probably her ninety-second year. She was one of the old-time negro servants. She loved her master and his descendants--she knew no interest but his and theirs. She began to fail two or three years before her death: her eye-sight, hearing, and all her mental powers, one after another, gave away, until at last, like the ripe grain, she was gathered into her Master's garner. She belonged to no Chruch, but in faith, believed with the Baptists. At the request of the gentleman at whose house she died, this notice is prepared."
