    1. Re: [ALMONROE-L] Thomas Bennett and Prudence Ship Bennett
    2. Carol and Kay and all, I have Thomas Bennett married Prudence Ship from Texas m 4-3-1829 Children William Mathison Thomas Bradley unamed daughter Harriet Isabella Jane Priscilla George Crittenden Joseph m Lou Goodwin Caroline called Aunt Callie m Thomas Dewbery(My writing is hard to read so to be sure on this spelling I would have to go back to the orignal source) Elizabeth m A.L. Palmer Daniel Dozier called DD m Katherine Alice Bryan dau of John Bryan and Elizabeth Jane Lee Walter m ? Bryan sister to DD's wife My husband and his father carried the name Dozier on. We cannot find where Dozier came into the family as a surname but there are a lot of Dozier lastnames here in SC. I have a story on Thomas passed on in the family . You do realize that Thomas was a Baptist minister. The story goes something like this. the family was in SC and moving to Alabama. They melted all the silver and brass candlesticks down and had a cow bell made. This bell was put on the lead cow. At night if Indians were around the cows would get restless and the ringing of the bell would wake the family and give them time to react. I have a note that the bell is in the possession of Joseph's family. Have you heard this one? Would carol and Kay email me privately as I heard from Pam that I could not be reached and I would just like a check on my system. The info on the family I don't care whether that goes to the list or not as there might be a lot of kinfolk out there and I'd love to know them all. Carol I think the guy you saw was Tom a 1/2 first cousin to my husbands father. Tom grew up in that area and I know was visiting there last week. Kay I am excited about Uncle Tom's info..
