Is the perception that one cannot copy records from the Monroe County Probate based on actual experience? I am able to go there 1-2 times a year and have had NO problem in obtaining photocopies of any record so desired. Copies are $1 per page; yes, its pricey but not untypical of courthouse charges. I have requested copies of documents by mail and have quickly obtained them. While some of the staff were seemingly unaware of the contents of the Probate vault, they did not actively prohibit use of the volumes. This is not unrealistic inasmuch the clerical workers are just that -- lowly paid clerical workers processing current fees, etc. Deborah Bass-Frazier
