    3. Just in case there is someone knew on the list: I am searching for my gggrandfather William Roberson who married Elizabeth Bonner. William was born ca 1790. At some time by 1818, I think they had moved to Alabama, perhaps Wilcox County. If not Wilcox, then Monroe County. I have been told they had a son who was called Tye Roberson, born ca 1817. Tye married Polly Sills, daughter of Clement and Elizabeth Thorton Sills. Tye and Polly had one child before Tye died at age 37. Their son Alfred Bennett Roberson, my grandfather, was born in 1838 in Alabama. Alfred Bennett fought in the Civil War. He married twice: Martha Canterberry and Mary Alice Wright. Martha and Alfred Bennett had two sons, Hilary and William. With Mary Alice, Alfred Bennett had ten children who lived to adulthood. Descendents of Martha and Alfred B. lived in Greenville, Al. Those of Mary Alice and Alfred B. lived mostly in Monroe County, the Old Texas, Excel, Repton, and Monroeville communities. I have been unable to make any connection with any of the several William Roberson/Robinsons who lived in Alabama. I have found no reference to a Tye Roberson. People connected to William Roberson are the Sill, Thorton, Canterberry, Ingram and Wright families. I would be grateful for any info that will lead me to find my William Roberson. The census records say he went from South Carolina to Alabama. He probably was in the Abbeville -Longcane areas of South Carolina. Thank you again for reading my efforts to break down my brickwall.
