    1. Re: [ALMONROE-L] Masonic Lodge information
    2. Cynthia, my father was a member of Alabama Lodge #3 in Monroe County, one of the oldest lodges in Alabama. Unfortunately he is no longer living. According to the Monroe Journal 1866-1869 Centennial Edition, the Lodge was originally at Perdue Hill, MonroeCounty and was moved in 1884 to Claiborne. I mean physically moved, the whole building. Elsewhere there is a tiny notation that it was moved by L. Medlock, whom I assume was my Uncle Lex Medlock, You may be able to find more by contacting the Grand Lodge of Alabama. IMy experience has been that if there is a Masonic marker on the grave, the deceased was a Mason. I'm sure there are other folks on this list who are more knowledgeable than I am, and I'm sure their help will be forthcoming. Emma in NM
