Barbara, My Hardy Powell was married to Missouri Powell. I don't know her maiden name, or their dates of birth. I know they delivered my grandfather in 1989, so I believe these people are a little before their time, although with the family name factor, there may be a connection somehow. I have seen this census before and wondered about that. I will keep on trudging, and if I find out more information that may link the two, I will surely pass the information on to you. Thank you so much for your kind response. His mother and father was Missouri and Hardy Powell. Charles married my grandmother, Lucylle Tate in Mobile in 1921. I have not been able to find anything on them. This is the only side of my family I cannot find anything on. It may be a longshot, but I was wondering if any Powell's are listed in your book. >> How interesting! Check out the 1850 census for Monroe County. Hardy POWELL is there with his family group! My g grandmother was Masouri Francis POWELL Davison of Monroe County, b.d. Apr. 9, 1841, near Burnt Corn,Al. died @ Natchez, Al.on 2-26-1916, buried at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery, Natchez. I have found her name spelled Missouri, Masouri, and Masoura. Have not yet determined which Irvin POWELL was her father but feel confident that I will when I have time. Happy hunting!
