Linda, I think you will find that Simpkinsville was renamed "Old Texas.". A Mr. Simpkins had the store in the little community. Have never learned why the name was changed to "Old Texas." Many people went from there to Texas...but why "Old." (Does anyone know?) Old Texas, on our CAAA map, is on Highway 47 between Midway and Awin. It is west of the freeway #65, southwest of Greenville. We were there several years ago and there is only one store remaining. I am trying to research my great-grandmother Julia "Callie" Jones who married Sherrod Sims. They lived in Butler County, too.
