Notes for SAMUEL STABLER: Baptised 4 June 1837, parents: Lewis and Polly Stabler per records of Sandy Run Lutheren Church. Since George Lewis was known as George in most references and his wife was Mary, it is may be that this Lewis was the son of Fredrick, although I would have expected him to be a member of St. Mathews Luthern Church. Important note: the 1850 SC census, Lexington County item 1242 indicates that (George) Lewis & Mary Stabler had a 14 year old son named Samuel. This matches the Baptismal record date; therefore, the church record of Lewis and Polly apparently referred to this Lewis. Polly may have been a nickname or a mistaken entry by minister. vi.
