His mother and father was Missouri and Hardy Powell. Charles married my grandmother, Lucylle Tate in Mobile in 1921. I have not been able to find anything on them. This is the only side of my family I cannot find anything on. It may be a longshot, but I was wondering if any Powell's are listed in your book. >> How interesting! Check out the 1850 census for Monroe County. Hardy POWELL is there with his family group! My g grandmother was Masouri Francis POWELL Davison of Monroe County, b.d. Apr. 9, 1841, near Burnt Corn,Al. died @ Natchez, Al.on 2-26-1916, buried at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery, Natchez. I have found her name spelled Missouri, Masouri, and Masoura. Have not yet determined which Irvin POWELL was her father but feel confident that I will when I have time. Happy hunting! Barbara
