Henry Groom was the son of Lucinda Groom from Pine Apple -- Old Texas, Alabama. He was either born out of wedlock or his father was another Groom.After he was born his mother married Henry Brantley but there is no known record of Henry Groom ever using his step-fathers name. A half-brother, William Brantley, is buried in Old Texas. Henry served in the War Between The States at Ships Island. Afterwards, he married Susan Baughman, daughter of.
