Reprinted August 24, 1911 in The Monroe Journal, Vol. 44. Members of Leslie's Flying Artillery Company mustered into service of the Confederate States Army at Camden, AL. included brothers; William Stacey, G.W. Stacey, and Jesse Stacey. The company was enlisted at Halls Mill, AL. as Sengstak's Battery (2nd Alabama Lt. Artillery Battalion) and commanded by Capt. H.H. Sengstak. May 14, 1863. Monroe County, AL. Marriage Book A, pg. 235. William H. Stacey and Sophronia Ross were married by consent. The ceremony was conducted by John M. Greene, J.P. Security was signed by Mathew Lambert. NOTE: William Henry Stacey died during the Civil War according to Stacey family sources. This is supported by the Ross/Hamilton family descendants. After the deah of William Henry Stacey, Sophronia Ross married Blasingame Hamilton. Her sister, Mary Ann, married Harvey Richard Stacey, brother of William H. Stacey. Harvey is buried at Ridge Cemetery in Monroe County and Mary Ann is buried at Robinsonville Baptist cemetery in Escambia County, AL. Is this the person?
