And, I want to thank him for that suggestion now. And, I wanted to take the time to possibily help others who are looking for a Daniel who is connected with Monroe Co., AL. I read the statement from Grant & it didn't mean much to me at that time because the only thing I knew about my James Daniel b. 1797 in GA & Alexander Daniel, b. 1799 in GA before Monroe Co was that Alexander was a head of household in the 1830 Washington Co., GA census. But, I find that his statement has proven it's self to me. I believe that James & Alexander Daniel are the son's of Amos Daniel (son of Nathan, grdson of Joseph Daniel and Sarah Barnes & greatgrandson of Simon Daniel of Edgecombe Co., NC) and Mary Fenn (dau. of Zacharais Fenn-Rev. War Soldier). Zacharias Fenn rec'd Bounty Land in Washington Co & I believe that Amos and Mary lived on that land. Also, believe that William Daniel b. in 1790's in NC with wife Susannah who also lived in Monroe was part of this same line from Simon Daniel. It's a pretty good bet as they named their sons Simon & Joseph amongst other well used names in this Daniel line. There was a Benjah Daniel who purchased some Monroe Co. land in the 1840's - he's a part of the Edmund Daniel line who was a son of Joseph, who migrated to SC and then later in 1870-1880 many of this line migrated into Conecuh. There was also a Fredrick Daniel who died in Monroe Co. who's Will was recorded in Monroe and it stated him was from SC is also part of the Edmund Daniel family in SC. It's interesting and a little hard to track when parts of families split apart during the migration process and then join back up together later on down the line and some place else. It appears that there are several lines of Griffin's, Barnes', Duke's, Crow's and many other families in Monroe Co., Chambers, Shelby and other counties in AL who migrated pretty much in the same patterns and are all part of the same families. Many of these families migrate to Union Co., Ark and lived in the same communities there. Drusilla Daniel, dau of Joseph Daniel & Sarah Barnes married a Bateman & her Will was registered in Coosa Co. AL. Her Bateman descendents migrated with the rest of them to Union Co. Migrating with our folks from Monroe Co to Union Co., Ark was a John Daniel, b. 1817 in Ga who married Martha Barnes, b. 1827 in AL. And, there is an older John Daniel, b. 1787 in GA with a wife named Frances, who is probably also part of this family. Both these John Daniel's have sons named Berry - which suggests a connection, but I haven't found it. So, regarding your Emily Daniel, marrying in 1800 - I would guess that she's part of this line, if she or someone close came to Monroe Co. Emily is one of the repeated girls names in this line. There seem to be three distinct Daniel lines around the area. One of them, I've described above. Another is in Perry Co., the line of Woodson Daniel, the brother of Beverly Daniel of Raleigh NC.
