Hi, I know this is a repeat, but hopefully, someone new on the List will have info about these family. I would like to correspond with anyone who is researching these Thorton and Manning families of Monroe County. Asa B. Thorton (1788-1843) married Nancy Collier (1792-1860). Their son John A. Thorton (1815) married Sally Sills (1817). Sally is my paternal gggrandaunt. John A. and Sally Sills Thorton's son John E.(1836-1917) married Elizabeth Manning. John E. and my grandfather Alfred Bennett Roberson fought and were captured together in the War Between the States. Elizabeth Manning (1839-1901) was the daughter of Minerva McFerren (1812-) and William H. Manning (1800-). William H. Manning was the son of Patricia Hardy and William T. Manning. The above mentioned Sally Sills Thorton was the daughter of Clement and Elizabeth Thorton Sills. I am trying to learn what the relationship was between Elizabeth Thorton's family and Asa B. Thorton's family. These people lived in Monroe County/ Butler County/Wilcox County, Al. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
