Dear GWJCAL, Thanks for posting the list of burned courthouses in AL. It did my heart good to see that Monroeville nor Claiborne, Monroe Co, AL, were burned. Could someone tell me how far back Monroe Co record's go. I am still trying to locate voting lists between 1832/33?-1849 or tax lists. Does anyone know if they're available? Of course my favorite refrain is: Mahalaleel (or other similar spelling) CRAWFORD is the gentleman for whom I am searching. He is my g-g-gf and my most elusive ancestor. HELP!!!! Anyone with info please write me or the list. This grandmother of 75 really would appreciate info or ideas on how to obtain these facts elsewhere.
