Linda, Could you please tell me if James, son of William and Sarah Brooks, was named James SAWYER Brooks, and was he married to Mary Jane DEVIN as the article I read said? Which Brooks in this line married Mary Jane DRIVER, and was she the daughter of (or somehow related to) the Giles Driver who was in Macon County, Georgia, in 1840 next to John S. (Sawyer) Brooks? Giles DRIVER (age 50 from Georgia) is on the 1860 Butler Co. Ala. Census living next door to the family of John D. SELLERS, which includes his son Duncan SELLERS who married my gg-aunt Eliza Jane BROOKS (daughter of my gg-gf Felix Brooks) in 1869. On the other side of Giles DRIVER in 1860 was the family of W. H. BINION and his wife Elizabeth Carolyn BROOKS (daughter of John Sawyer Brooks and Rebecca Mitchell who were married in Jones Co. Ga. in 1822). EC BROOKS and husband WH Binion are buried near my gg-gps BROOKS at SELLERS Cemetery in south Butler Co. The name FELIX Brooks is not found in other Brooks lines of my gg-gf's time period (1807-1850), not even his own descendants. One other FELIX Brooks I have found was in Jones Co.. Georgia for the 1840 and 1850 censuses and he married Matilda GRIFFITH/Griffin in Jones Co. Ga. 30 Dec. 1831.
