In the mid 1950s, my father was the pastor of Oak Grove Assembly of Godin the community of Wild Fork, Monroe County, AL. My sister married Harvey Jacob Huggins, the on of Wilburn Phillip Huggins and Bessie Bama Ledkins. A few years back, I surveyed a few of the graves there: Wilburn Phillip Huggins Nov. 28, 1887 Jan. 1, 1965 Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal Bessie Bama Ledkins Huggins Aug. 27, 1901 May 11, 1976 Edward J. Ledkins Feb. 12, 1872 Mar. 10, 1936 He is at rest in Heaven Alice F. Ledkins April 25, 1872 Sept. 6, 1942 She is not dead But sleepeth Raymond Oscar Mooney Feb. 13, 1916 June 5, 1990 m. June 21, 1940 Lillie Mae Huggins Mooney Nov. 1, 1920 No Death Date m. June 21, 1940 Harvey J. Huggins May 30, 1926 May 16, 1985 Lance A. Huggins June 29, 1958 Dec. 11, 1959 Gone To Be An Angel The above Lance Arlen Huggins was my nephew. Furthermore, from my father's funeral record book (and I believe each of these are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery; also I think that sometimes my father's date was death date, other times burial date): Ralphine Ledkins, 9, Monroeville, 2-3-62, lukemia Bartow Silcox, 27, Oak Grove, 6-14-62, suicide Philip Huggins, 77, Wild Fork, 1-3-65, stroke Bessie Huggins, 75, Oak Grove AL, 5-13-76, heart Jake Ledkins, 73, Oak Grove, 5-1-77, heart Harvey Huggins, 57, Monroeville, Oak Grove, 5-16-85 Blessings, Ken Johnson

    2. Ken, I want to thank you and Betty Manning for sending me some very useful Oak Grove Cemetery information. Both of you also shared Coleman Cemetery information (mostly about the Huggins family) with me a couple of years ago. I appreciate very much all of you who share your valuable information with others. Here's an obit for Wilburn Phillip Huggins in case you need it. [from the Monroe Journal 1-7-1965] Rev. Huggins Dies Friday in Hospital Rev. Phillip HUGGINS, 77, of Frisco City, Route 2, died Friday at the Monroe Co. Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ralph Johnson and the Rev. Clem SANKS officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Bessie Ledkins HUGGINS; three sons, Harvey, Wesley, and Floyd, all of Frisco City; five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae MOONEY of Cantonment, Fla.; Mrs. Adell COLEY [Corey] of Frisco City; Mrs. Vera DAVIDSON of Molino, Fla.; Mrs. Era SILCOX and Mrs. Fay LUKER, both of Goodway; three sisters, Mrs. Annie PARRISH of Frisco City, Mrs. Laura BURTON of Foley, and Miss Clara HUGGINS of Cantonment; twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
