HI, you will probably drown with all the replies you are going to receive, but just in case... yes, the Monroeville Baptist Church is very much alive! Ted and I were married in the old church on 3 May 1953. Sometime after that date, new buildings were built on Pineville Road across a little ways from the cemetery. There is a large large main building and a large educational building. Unfortunately, after being sold, the beautiful old building on the square was torn down. I have never heard of Pastor Benson. I wonder if he was followed by Pastor Black. Happy to answer any questions that I can.
