At one time, this parcel was in Monroe County as was half of Alabama. Sections 1 to 12, part of 13 & 14, all of 15 through 19, all of 20 except the SE corner. 3/4 of 21, a portion of 22, 29, & 30 of Township 9N, Range 11E lies in the extreme NE corner of Monroe. The remaining full sections plus the remaining partial sections of those named lies within Conecuh. Township 8N lies wholy within Conecuh and due south of the previously described Township 9N. The old federal road is the county line and marks the division of Township 9N. You will find Middleton cemetery in Sectiion 22, Salem Church in Section 13, and the community of Old Texas located on Ala. Highway 47 in Section 7 as the most notable landmarks of 9N.
