    1. William D. Harris line and Elvira Collins
    2. Anyone out there looking for these two lines? I sure would like to hear from any of the Harris family who had an Elvira Collins marriage to William D. Harris if possible around 1870s. Thanks Sue K in Seattle

    3. HI, you will probably drown with all the replies you are going to receive, but just in case... yes, the Monroeville Baptist Church is very much alive! Ted and I were married in the old church on 3 May 1953. Sometime after that date, new buildings were built on Pineville Road across a little ways from the cemetery. There is a large large main building and a large educational building. Unfortunately, after being sold, the beautiful old building on the square was torn down. I have never heard of Pastor Benson. I wonder if he was followed by Pastor Black. Happy to answer any questions that I can. The 1840 Census lists much of the family in NC - Do you have any ancestry on John Gause or Flora Mills - they are both mostly stumping me!

As for the same name story - it was during a check of the 1850 or 60 monroe census that I noted there were 2 William R Halls in the Burnt Corn PO - the other b. in GA. From my Swedish research I remembered that to avoid mixing their mail - individuals in the same area - 2 Ole Swensons for instance -= one would just take a nickname for mail purposes and as the USPS was just getting started around that time - It finally made sense why family lore only listed him as Ira - perhaps another hint to his Irish ancestry. - now to get the picture posted...

Hall and my 2nd great grandmother Anna Laspeyre. Do you have anything about Anna's parents Bernard Laspeyre and Harriet Ashe? I have Edward and Catherine Gause's children as Anna, Lee, Flora, and Johnnie Augusta (m.John Thomas Dawes). It is interesting that the Gause family moved to Houston Co., TX, where Edward was teaching school in 1870 and then founded the Crockett Patron in 1880. E.A. Gause's father John was born in N.C., same as Catherine. Please tell the story about the "two doctors in the same PO getting their mail mixed up." Do you have a .jpg of Dr. Hall? My great grandfather Alexander Hamilton Hall, son of Anna C. Laspeyre and Capt. William Augustus Hall, was also a doctor. Thanks, Steve
