Thanks for the information on where Mckinleys is. I am related to these families, but I do not know them personally as they are distant cousins from Jacob and his son, James Guthrall Stabler. I am planning a trip over there in September and would love to locate Jacob and James prior to the trip. My great grandfather, Fletcher DeLoach Stabler also lived in McKinleys in 1880. I think he was staying with his grandparents, James Guthrall and Nancy Presnall Stabler. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Loretta" <sbm1@frontiernet.net> To: <ALMONROE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 31, 2006 2:22 PM Subject: Re: [ALMONROE-L] Cemetery info > The Mckinley Beat on the Census records for Monroe County is about 15 > miles NNWof Monroeville and takes in the communities of Franklin, > Wainwright, and Finchburg. Hi Bill, The group sheet I have shows Lucinda's parents as Charles Groom, b. 1787 NC & Susan Simons. Charles also had another wife named Mary. His children were Willie Ann, b, 1805 GA; Jane F., b 1812, GA; Lucinda, b. 1815, GA; Nancy, b. 1821, GA; Mary Elizabeth, b. 1826, Wilcox Co., AL; Sarah Ann, b. 1828, Wilcox Co, AL; William Edward, b. 1830 Wilcox Co., AL; James Wright, b. 4-3-1832, Wilcox Co., AL. Another researcher suggest that Charles first wife, Mary, died in GA ca 1821 and he remarried and relocated to Wilcox Co,. AL by 1826. That's all I have.
