It is right across the road from some of my famlies property east of Monroeville. I have often wondered about this family as nobody seems to be related to them around here. I found where she and Richardson purchased land near their graves in the mid 1820's to 1830's. I have attached pictures of the headstones which are very nice as compared to others in the area of the same age. I found Richardson's headstone lying flat and partially buried. I had to remove a few inches of earth to find out who the headstone belonged to. Several years back I posted this info on a Foster family page and someone from LA e mailed me and said Richardson's wife later remarried and moved to Louisanna and was related to them. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message I would like to take photos of the cemetery that you mention, when we come to Monroeville, next spring. 3. HI...Tami, so good to see your name come up on an inquiry! Hope all is well with you. Bone Hill was named because when the horses/mules died on the wagon train in that area, according to the story that I have heard, all the animals were buried in the same place, so a huge accumulation of bones developed. Bone Hill is north east, I think, of Old Texas., but I imagine you will get a better location from someone else. Are you working on your Rob family? 3. Hi all, Donald David Zeigler came from Freudenstein, Germany to Orangeburg County, SC in 1753. He came with his wife, Angela and nine children. He died shortly after arriving and Angela remarried. His daughter, Anna Barbara Zeigler, married Gottlieb Stabler at Orangeburg County in 1757. Their son, John Jacob Stabler, migrated to Monroe County, Al in 1820. The other Zeigler children did move on down to Georgia. Charles T. Zeigler has a massive book published about the Zeigler family. His e-mail address is: [email protected] He and I descended from David Zeigler and now live only ten miles apart! I borrowed the book from him to obtain the information on David and Anna Barbara. My Zeigler line ended with her marriage to Gottlieb Stabler as my line goes through the Stabler family to my mother. My grandfather did not have any sons. However, if you'll check with Jane Ellen Clark at the Monroe County Heritage Museums, she could better advise you on that. I do know that there are several cemeteries listed online at http://www.trackingyourroots.com and click on Monroe County; as well as other internet sites. You might also go online to the Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance site, http://www.alabama-cemetery-preservation.com and click on the County page for Monroe and/or check the online Cemetery Register for any cemeteries listed for Monroe County. This is not a headstone registry; however, we do have cemeteries listed from all of the 67 counties in AL. Al Nettles is our ACPA County Rep. for Monroe County. In some of the Monroe County Historical Quarterlies there are listings for the various cemeteries located in Monroe County. Some of them have been transcribed and the headstone information is listed. We have a few listed in our cemetery books here in Conecuh County; such as in Pine Orchard; Old Texas; Burnt Corn, etc Hope this helps you some.

    2. Hi Lyndall, I have not "talked" with any Zeigler descendents. I have not seen the map you mention..Mills map of 1825. Do you have it? I would love a copy if you do. I will pay you for copying and mailing. Do you know what families lived near the Zeiglers and when they became established in Barnwell. Aquilla (father George) Bruton lived in Barnwell, Orangeburg, District, SC. Aquilla's son, Daniel Jefferson, born 1807, married in 1829, Mary Washington Zeigler, b. 3/55/1809, (Father, Jacob Zeigler, b. 8/10/1782, d. 8/28/1838..Mother Ann Pendarvis, b. 6/24/1791),. Aquilla's daughter, Mary Elizabeth, twin of Daniel, married Nathaniel D. Zeigler. They left Barnwell and moved to Quincy,Gadsden Co, FL and then Bainbridge, Decatur Co., GA. Aquilla's will was filed in Gadsden Co., FL on Jan., 28, 1837 but I have not been able to get a copy of it. Many of the Zeigler family moved with them and there is a Zeigler Family Cemetery in Quincy, and Mary Elizabeth Bruton Zeigler is buried there.. I have been looking for more information on these families. I would like to know when George Bruton, Aquilla's father came to Barnwell and who his father was...Where the Zeigler family came from and when to Barnwell might help with this since they seem to be very close. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Carol Brewton Forney from Lyndall Maxwell.... Carol, I think Zieglers WERE in Barnwell. A Ziegler descendent told me his family lived near my Maxwells at one time. Do you have access to the Mill's Map of 1825? I think it shows a Ziegler farm in Barnwell. 3. Hi Gladys, I don't have anything on the Hutto family. They are not in my direct lineage. That name has not come up. My Stabler wives last names are: Zeigler (Gottlieb's wife), Presnall (James' wife) , DeLoach (Mal's wife), Bowlin (Fletcher's wife) and Ray (Gerald's wife). I am documenting the Daniels connection (Presnall wife) through my Dad's family. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Elixabeth and Richardson Foster Burial Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HU.2ADI/1640.1 Message Board Post: I know where the graves of Elizabeth Foster, Richardson Foster, Anna McDaniel and a Foster child buried next to Richardson are located.

    3. Hi Gladys, It's Barbara. I'm still working on my Stabler line. Mal & GV left Dennard's Bluff and went to Suggsville.
