    2. Mr. Torrey, I've read with great interest all your recent posts to the Monroe Co. list. I research LEEs in Butler Co., Monroe Co., and surrounding counties in Alabama. A few months ago I took the following note at the Mobile Geneaolgy Library: from Charles J. Torrey, III g 929.3 D V. 5 Mobile Gen. Society Death Notices 1860-1869, 1st Edition Monroe Eagle Newspaper, page 3, Column 3 Lee, Young 1868/04/29 Court of Probate, Monroe Co. Estate of Young LEE, Adm. L. Bowden ~~~~~~ Can you give me any more information on the Monroe Eagle Newspaper or the LEE article? Where did you find the newspaper? Do you know if there was any more information in the 1868 article concerning Young Lee? Thank you very much for the above information and any other information you can share. C. Surnames: Carter Shaunfield Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HU.2ADI/1659 Message Board Post: Hi, I have a Leah Frances Carter who married Charles Shaunfield. Leah's father's name was William E. Carter of AL. I have only found one census that is a possibility of this family. Because Leah was born in late 1840, she will only be on the 1850 Census data, which I have yet to find. The 1860 Census shows: CARTER WILLIAM 51 M W AL AL MONROE BURNT CORN P O 1860 Keziah, wife age 50 Thomas age 18 Keziah, daughter age 15 Sarah age 11 Lawrence age 8 Rony(?) son age 1 Leah was already married in 1860, so she wouldn't be on this census. I think this is the correct family, because Leah names one of her daughters Keziah. Can someone help me find an 1850 Census from Monroe Co., AL with Leah Frances as daughter. She was born Sept 1840, so will be 9 or 10 on Census. Thanks in advance, Lisa
