Carol and Kay and all, I have Thomas Bennett married Prudence Ship from Texas m 4-3-1829 Children William Mathison Thomas Bradley unamed daughter Harriet Isabella Jane Priscilla George Crittenden Joseph m Lou Goodwin Caroline called Aunt Callie m Thomas Dewbery(My writing is hard to read so to be sure on this spelling I would have to go back to the orignal source) Elizabeth m A.L. Palmer Daniel Dozier called DD m Katherine Alice Bryan dau of John Bryan and Elizabeth Jane Lee Walter m ? Bryan sister to DD's wife My husband and his father carried the name Dozier on. We cannot find where Dozier came into the family as a surname but there are a lot of Dozier lastnames here in SC. I have a story on Thomas passed on in the family . You do realize that Thomas was a Baptist minister. The story goes something like this. the family was in SC and moving to Alabama. They melted all the silver and brass candlesticks down and had a cow bell made. This bell was put on the lead cow. At night if Indians were around the cows would get restless and the ringing of the bell would wake the family and give them time to react. I have a note that the bell is in the possession of Joseph's family. Have you heard this one? Would carol and Kay email me privately as I heard from Pam that I could not be reached and I would just like a check on my system. The info on the family I don't care whether that goes to the list or not as there might be a lot of kinfolk out there and I'd love to know them all. Carol I think the guy you saw was Tom a 1/2 first cousin to my husbands father. Tom grew up in that area and I know was visiting there last week. Kay I am excited about Uncle Tom's info.. Kay Andress
Kay. This is Kay Andress. Let me know if it is coming thru. Kay
I have a Thomas Bennett with a son Dozier Bennett in Butler County. There also was a brother of Dozier Bennett named Thomas. My husband's great grandmother was a sister of these two Bennetts. I don't know her first name but she married a Robert Steward. Any connections? I haven't really started working on this line much but certainly would like to find more. Carol
Sorry list I meant to send the last email to Kay Anderson personally but if anyone knows anything about my names please sing out. Does any one know any of the stories about Captain Tom Riley CSA? I'm not sure he lived in Monroe county or whether it was across the line. Kay Andress
Kay, I've seen your name keep popping up where I was looking so after seeing you under Bennett I decided to ask "Who are you?". My husband is Bill Andress who comes off the Andresses in Monroe county and the Thomas Bennett that you have on on the page I just looked at. He comes off Daniel Dozier Bennett and Katherine Alice Bryan. Their child Elizabeth Lee Bennett m William Lee Andress and they are my husband's grandparents. Just remembering it seems like we have some other interests in common. I am interested in the Riley's, Autry's, just to name a couple of extras. Kay Andress

Is is possible for anyone to do a lookup for my grandfather and his parents? William Curtis CANNON m. Annie Ellen BAKER in 1923. They were born in 1904 and 1908 respectively and lived with my g-grandparents, Watt and Annie BAKER CANNON in Franklin. I'd like to know the names of William Curtis' siblings, his mother Annie's maiden name and Watt's full name. I have no information on William or his family-William died in an accident in 1927 when my father was an infant. My grandmother said he worked in a cotton mill in E. Tallassee during their marriage. Thanks for any help you can provide. Kathy Campo Orlando, FL

There was an H.H. Hazletine who recieved a land grant in Leon Co. Texas. In the same County there was another JOHN MIDDLETON. Since the name HAZLETINE appears often in Monroe Co. as a feminine name and MIDDLETON s are also common is there a connection to Leon Co. TX
His email address is Oakley W@aol.com. Good luck. I think it is something we all who have our background need if just for our children. Kay
