Looking for Montgomery Marriages can you help? Sandy
Hi Kathryn No, they didn't. I probably did not address my request properly. If you don't mind, I would surely appreciate the help. Thanks. Hi, can someone tell me how I can find out how many times someone was married back in the 1800's. TaNee
Dear Deborah, How would one know if there is any info about their ancestors in this 1966 ed--original or reprint? CRAWFORDs are the line I'm searching and they were there sometime between 1832? thru 1849. Found Mahalaleel CRAWFORD in 1850 FL census, Walton Co. Would there be any printed census for the county during this time period or tax records, etc. Please let the list know the advantages of this edition aside from ancestors--history, pictures, other? Thanks, Winkie CRAWFORD R WinkieFL@aol.com In a message dated 11/10/99 3:24:57 PM Eastern Standard Time, ALMONROE-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << I am all for this! Sorry! I didn't find any of your kin. Could they have married in another state? Kathryn
Can you look up marriage(s) for Asa WILKINSON? One has him married to Elizabeth DYKES in Barbour Co. ca 1827 but Barbour County came into existance abouyt 10 years later. There was a second marriage to a Sarah (Grimes?) between 1870 and 72 but we can not find any records of it. Another Asa WILKINSON lived in Butler Co. AL and he was married to Rebecca Fleming. Dates and places for any of those would help sort out the mess. Thanks, Grant Chico, CA
Just checking to see if someone looked up the marriage request you had. If not, let me know. I have CD#248 and will be glad to check for you. Kathryn

COUNT ME IN on the request for reprints of the Monroe Journal Centennial Edition Supplement! If there are two books, I would love to have them both. Just let me know when we want to bombard them with requests. I've already put their e-mail address in my address book and am READY! Margie

Cecile, the first edition and the supplement are oversized paperback books loaded with genealogy material on families of Monroe County and info on the many little communities in the county. I refer to my copy often. When they were published, people were asked to submit family infor AND pictures. I have the first which was my Mother's, but I have never been able to get a copy of the second. Letters to the MJ just brought replies that plans were made to reprint the books, but that was months ago. I would like to see all of us who would buy the books write the editor on the same day, requesting reprints. I don't think he realizes how many copies would be sold. Cynthia, let me know when you start your petition for the reprints (there are two books)? Could we do it on the list? Have everyone who is interested in the books write to the editor on the same day? When I wrote, I had a reply, telling me there were plans for reprinting, but that was months ago. Freda >Does anyone know if the Monroe Journal has an email address?
