    3. Kay, Would you look in your Index for any Stanton name? I'm looking for info on this family and seem to have a John Stanton that was in the 1850 census, but not the 1860. I don't have a specific death date. Thanks Rhonda

    2. Freda: I bought one of the supplements to the Monroe Journal this summer--the reprinted version of the 1866-1966 Centennial Edition. I viewed the other one at the library in Monroeville, and would love to have a copy of it. Add me to your list of persons wanted the Journal to reprint these editions. I found quite a bit of information about KELLYs in the edition I bought. Thanks! Kathryn

Anyone on the list reading this who is interested in a reprint of the Monroe Journal's centennial editions, please write to me. I don't think the editor realizes how important the books are to family researchers. Any suggestions about getting the message to him would be appreciated. So sorry you are having to unsubscribe. I would like my name included in the petition if someone takes on the task. I will be back on the list when things settle down a little. Could we do it on the list? Have everyone who is interested in the books write to the editor on the same day? I spoke with them and they say they are considering doing such as they have already reprinted the Centennial Edition. There are articles in the supplement about many of my Monroe County ancestors. 1. Re: [ALMONROE-L] Mortality index
    2. Good grief girl ! Don't go getting snake bit ! I'm assuming that Nannie died, either that or grandpappy Sylvester was a bigamist ! He married Isabel McNeal after Nannie McKenzie died, or so we think. I am trying to help the wife of Milton Joplin find her. She was his great grandmother, her son Milton Scott Sr was his grandfather and a son of Nannie and Sylvester. I know there were/are some other McKenzies in the Monroeville area, but I think most of them are quite old and I'm not sure if they are related. How are you feeling these days ? Emma

    3. I found a no. of Crawford's listed in the Monreo Co. Census. I have a 14 d. free trial of Ancestry.com and used its search engine. Why don't you see if you can get a trial & copy the pages for the cites. However, I didn't see Mahalaleel listed. Deborah

    3. Dear Winkie, I have the reprint ed. of the Cent. Ed. There is no index of which I am aware. Thus, you find out what is in there by reading it. The value of it is that it contains newspaper articles of a variety of subjects -- businesses, churchs, family interest, odds and sods, etc. As for census or tax records, they exist for Monroe Co. However, I am not sure whether you were addressing Monroe or Walton Co., Fla. 2. Dear Deborah, Sorry I wasn't clear re Monroe, Co, AL. Yes, desperately need some leads on ancestors during period of 1832 thru 1849 in Monroe Co, AL. The census I have on an "M. CRAWFORD", Monroe Co, AL, shows 1 male, 2 females under 5 1 male, 2 females (10-15) 1 female (30-30) 1 male (30-40), ?1 female (70-30) Some of the neighbors listed on same sheet were FINKLEA, THOMPSON, BROWNs, and JONES. Sometimes there is a State or County census which shows the names of the families. Would appreciate your help in this area. Also welcome help from anyone with info on this family. 3. I'm sorry, did I miss that you would look up marriage info in AL? I am seeking information on a John Henry Bailey. He married Emma K. ? Don't know which Co. They moved to TX abt 1909. Had a son in AL in Jan. 1900. So I would assume it would be late 1800's. If it is a difficult lookup with out a year or county, please don't trouble yourself. I'll find out which county one of these days. Thanks, Rhonda
