----- Original Message ----- From: Marilyn Weston To: cmccoy@frontiernet.net Sent: Friday, February 18, 2000 11:08 AM Subject: Mary Eula McCoy and John Morgan Weston In the hopes there might be a connection, we are trying to find something on my husbands grandparents. We have no birth/death dates. They lived in or near Monroeville AL, when my husbands father, Mark Boyd Weston (5/11/1896-10/3/1969) was born there. At the time they would have had 4 other children (2 boys & 2 girls) ages 2, 4, 5 & 9. I do not know if the other children were born in Monroeville also or possibly Jackson AL. We believe it's possible they lived in both places. John Morgan Weston did logging in the area. There was an additional son (b. 1900), a set of twin daughters (1902), and 2 other daughters born (1992 & 1994). We believe John Morgan Weston died in the vicinity of the above, as Mary Eula (McCoy) Weston took the children and went to Bayou La Batre-Coden, AL area and opened an inn/boarding house. Later Years, oldest son, John Morgan Weston (1887-1971) lived in Jackson, AL. Other children lived Bayou La Batre, Mobile, Theodore and Thomasville. No info on McCoy family. All of the children are deceased and all that's left is a few of my husbands generation, and their children and grandchildren. If you possibly have any info on McCoy's or Weston's through you contacts that might help or some suggestions, we would welcome same. Thank you so much in advance.........Mrs. Mark B. I spoke w/ the Monroeville Journal editor within the past few mos. and he indicated there are plans to make a reprint of the Centennial Edition. However, I am not sure WHICH of the 2 will be reprinted -- more likely the 2nd as it was redone as much of the original information from the 1st ed. wasn't' available. Keep checking on the Monroeville Jrl. site -- find the e-mail link (if there's one) and let them know there are plenty of interested buyers out here! -- Your Obedient Servant, D. A. Dear Winkie, I only have the 1966 Centennial Edition. I do not have an index. Not sure that there is one. It's very time consuming to look for names...have done that several times....so it may take awhile for me to get back to you. I have tried to get the editor to reprint all of the centennial editions, but neither I nor others have had any success. If I see any Crawfords, I will write to you. Freda, Freda and Ted Noble tnoble@mcn.org
Freda, Do you have copies of this Supplemental ed. & the earlier Centennial Ed by the Monroe Journal? Would love to know if there are any CRAWFORDs mentioned in these editions. I am trying to locate relatives of Mahalaleel CRAWFORD. Understand there was a Dr James (John?) CRAWFORD, a relative, who migrated to this area from S.C. Thanks for your help.
