    1. [ALMONROE-L] In the Monroe Journal
    2. At one time I know that I saw mention of a man who left Monroe County during the night, with some reference to a murder or something of that nature. I have both the 1966 & 69 Editions of the Centennial issues, but although I have gone over and over them, cannot find the mention. If anyone sees this will you please send me the page # ? Thanks , Emma in NM

    1. [ALMONROE-L] CRAWFORDs SC > Monroe Co, AL
    2. AL Researchers, Please allow me to share a little more about Monroe Co, AL, CRAWFORDs. My ancestor, g-g-gf Mahalaleel Crawfords descendants are shown below & a brief bio of his family (as known) in SC. Maybe someone will recognize some of his children's names & help me over, under, around, or storming through my brick wall. My contention is that Mahalaleel is the son of Hal CRAWFORD as listed on Ancestral file as s/o John CRAWFORD b 1746, SC and wife Elizabeth ALSTON Crawford, b 177?, SC (probably Marion Dist). My reasoning for this is that Hal b 1780, or 1767 on one record (possibly 2 Hals?) would have been the right age as Mahalaleel was b abt 1802 per 1850 & 1860 FL (Walton Co) FL, census. This is further strengthened by the correspondence rec'd & source material showing his children as listed below. John CRAWFORD b 1746 was s/o James CRAWFORD & Kasiah (Cassia) SAUNDERS as listed in Sellers' History of Marion County, SC, as well as Ancestral file online & other researchers. Would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge or would like to exchange information on these CRAWFORDs. Thank you for your help, Winkie CRAWFORD R WinkieFL@aol.com 1. On the 1880 census Morelle is listed as 20 years old. I think her parents were Martin & Mary Ellen Hendrix; however, Morelle is not listed in their household on the 1870 census, and on the 1860 census Martin & Mary Ellen have a daughter Martha age 1 year old. Are Martin & Mary Ellen truly Morelle's parents? Is Martha & Morelle the same (I believe I have seen her name listed somewhere as Morelle M. Hendrix)? Thanks for any info.
