This is my Harris bunch. I am descended from William Harris. No one in my family has ever heard the name William D. [William Dale]. This is William Henry Harris who married Jane Barlow on 22 Apr, 1879 in Monroe Co. Nelson Harris m. Dycie "Caledonia" Jaye on 13 Apr, 1880 in Monroe Co. Their parents were Robert Harris and Sarah Ann Hayles. John Harris m. Edith Ann Loftin 31 Jan 1856 in Monroe Co., AL. She later married Washington Williams. Her name is sometimes Elly, Edianne, Edith Ann Loftin/Laughton. If anyone has information on her marriage to Washington Williams, please contact me... I am trying to research that line. It is assumed that Vicey is the mother of Elizabeth, John and Robert Harris. It is also assumed that her husband was John Harris of England. Vicey Harris was married to Wm. Sagar of Canada 23 Jul 1838 in Monroe Co., AL. ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Lambert To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 12:09 AM Subject: Re: [ALMONROE-L] Harris genealogy Susie,I am not related to the Harris family;but I did find this information that I hope will help you. 1860 Census of Monroe Co. There is a Brooks family reunion that will be held in Evergreen Ala Oct 10 I do believe ...the oldest living gentleman is Homer Brooks who is now 101 and his brother Harold.... They do have a tremendous amount of Brooks genealogy and it is a continous project for them.... I believe Sherry Johnson at the Evergreen library has the number to contact the daughter who was Sybil Brooks Evans living in Maryland. If you can't find it through Sherry email me directly and I will attempt to find it for you. Good luck Janice in NH [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected])

I have completely lost a Great Uncle of mine and his wife- (Martin Luther Brooks and Nellie Mae Pipkin Brooks.) They married after 1900. He lived in the Burnt Corn area of Conecuh County. Later in years he lived in Escambia County Alabama and died there near Atmore in 1950. However I cannot find them in any of the census records. I am hoping someone can help me find them. There are other relatives interested in finding them also. Thanks Muriel K

Martha Haidek in her "The Byrd Genealogy" gives the parents of Margaret Solomon who married Harvey Byrd, in 1944 as T. Wallter Solomon and MARY ETHEL PUGH. From another source, I was given the wife of T. Walter Solomon as MARTHA PUGH. Does anyone know which is correct...Mary Ethel or Martha? And who was her parents? Thank you.
