    1. RE: [ALMOBILE-L] Cemetery in Mobile
    2. english
    3. Chatom is across the state line from Wayne County Mississippi I believe, which is just a few miles from Perry County (the way the county lines are located.) If I'm not mistaken the Mississippi side was all taken from Greene County, Mississippi which was formed from part of Alabama. Just a little help on the Mississippi side : ) Ginny CC MSGenWeb Stone and Perry Counties http://www.rootsweb.com/~msstone/index.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~msperry/index.htm -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, January 28, 1999 8:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ALMOBILE-L] Cemetery in Mobile Hi, This is in response to Shirley's question about Shortleaf and Yellow Pine, AL. I'm also new to the list and a novice genealogist. I thought I'd pass along this information. I'm not familiar with Shortleaf and couldn't find it on a map. Yellow Pine, AL, is located in Washington County which borders Mobile County to the North. Yellow Pine is almost on the Alabama-Mississippi line. The county seat is Chatom and I believe that is where you would write for vital records. I hope this helps. I'm including a site which shows a map of this county. <www.asc.edu/archives/maps/washimap.html > Best regards, Kim Taylor [email protected]
