Hi Looking for info on Jonathan Stocking, b. 1797 in NY, who was mayor of Mobile in the 1830's, and died in 1835. I have all his family in NY and CT going back to England, but would like to find some info on what was happening in Mobile at the time he and his family were living there, politics etc., and how he died. Also--and especially--looking for info on Keziah Elizabeth Beard, his wife, b. 1805, and her parents. She was supposedly b. in "Macon" (no state given). She and Jonathan were married in 1823 in Blakeley, Baldwin Co., AL and then moved, before 1830, to Mobile. I have no info on her parents, but her father's name may have been Henry.
