    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TS.2ADE/1801.1.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Tim, I feel that I should mention that I am currently in the process of entering almost all of my genealogies into a FTM-2005 file. Last week while I was doing this, a light flashed and I realized that the Vaughn P NEWBURY and H. A. NEWBURY were erroneously transcribed in that 1880 census and were actually Beckham VAUGHN and Hatte Ann WARD. Geez, I have spent hours trying to find out who Vaughn P. NEWBURY was! I even thought the "P" might stand for Percy, since a descendant in this line was named Percy NEWBURY. I ran across your post on the Mobile Board Sunday, when I decided to find out more about Beckham and Hattie Ann. As I add my genealogies to my FTM-2005 file, I am also adding a little to what I have on my webpages and making some corrections and changes. Hopefully I will correct a greater number of things than the errors/typos I create by doing this! Anyway, Since it might effect your current research, I think you should know that the Thomas Cogborn HAGENS, as currently shown on my webpage and who is a descendant of Maggie VAUGHN/VAUGHAN Newbury, was actually born in 1855 and not 1869. There is at least one Falls County, Texas file that appears to show him born 31 Jan 1869, but I recently found that he is enumerated in the 1880 census at age 24 and in the household of a brother: 1880 Census Place E.D. 39, Falls, Texas Family History Library Film 1255302 / NA Film Number T9-1302 / Page Number 209C Mason M. HAGAN Self M Male W 26 TX Farmer AL AL Sarah HAGAN Wife M Female W 18 AL Keeping House AL AL Thomas C. Spurgeon I guess the W. M. Ward might be of interest to you too! He may be related to Hattie Ann. The online files that show Thomas HAGENS as born in 1869, also shows his middle name as Cogborn, while the files I have located that show him born in 1855 have his middle name as Cogsdell or Cogdell. In all instances that I have found, Thomas C. HAGENS' father is shown as William Beauregard HAGENS and he has a brother named Mason born in 1853. In my FTM file I now have him as Thomas Cogsdell HAGENS born 1855 Upshur County, Texas; died 7 Apr 1923 Anson, Jones County, Texas and with a note about the name variants. All for now, Steve
