Hello, I am researching the FOSTER family who had property located at St. Louis Street near Conception, in Mobile AL in 1938. My ancestor, Mary Sophia "Molly" Moore Foster (b.1858) was married to Judge/Colonel Thomas R. Foster (born ca.1850) and they lived in Vicksburg MS. Thomas' mother may have been Elmira Foster. I have a will-type document that lists contents from the above property. I also have a photo-postcard showing a house which says "Spring Hill house of T.R. Foster" which looks like a plantation home. Thomas R. Foster was known as Judge Foster on one record. He is usually listed as T.R. Foster and was sometimes called Colonel Foster. I don't know when T.R. Foster lived in/near Mobile. T.R. Foster and Molly Moore Foster lived in Vicksburg. Molly died in 1915 and the will-type document of T.R. Foster was signed by him in 1938 and witnessed in 1939. T.R. Foster's great-grandmother (b.1760) was Nancy Foster. I'm curious to know if/when the Fosters lived in/near Mobile, and if the home at St. Louis/Conception St. and Spring Hill still exist. The photo of the house in Spring Hill shows a woman in white, walking along the grove leading up to the house, in what looks like turn-of-the-century dress, and the photo shows a dog near her. T.R. and Molly Foster had at least two children who died (one may be Hillary) and their third child who lived was Mary Corinne Foster who lived in Vicksburg and eventually moved to Norfolk, VA where she married Ramon Mills. I have some photos from the Foster family I would like to identify. This Foster family may have connections to a Meacham family, of SC. I would like to connect with others who may be researching this family. Thanks, Peggy Dyas http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VicksburgMississippiResearchers
