I've received details of my ancestors from the US Federal Census of 1860. I would now like to trace the birth records - and maybe the death records for the parents - details are as follows: JOHN MURLY - born abt 1819 in England (?Bridport, Dorset?) CATHARINE MURLY - born 1835 in Bridport, Dorset. Their marriage took place in Bridport, Dorset in 1852, and I've got details of that. They had 3 children - all born in Mobile, Alabama - AMELIA LOUISA MURLY, born about 1854; EMMA MURLY, born about 1856; and JOHN GEORGE MURLY, born 1859. All these details came from the US Federal Census of 1860. The three children appear in the British Census of 1871 and 1881, but I cannot find any deatils of the parents after 1860, and I wondered if they died in the US. What I would like to know is how can I get details - and/or copies - of the birth registration and possible death? Can some kind person out there help me? I look forward to hearing from somebody!
