Before 1812 he married either in Florida or St. Marys GA Mary Dewees, of the Florida Dewees. The American State papers report his activities off the west coast of Florida. His father was Seth Foster, the mayor of Norfolk Va in the 1790s. Are there any records in Alabama of naval officers assigned to Mobile? Thanks for your help.
