    1. Late 1700s/JONES & ? on the River Dee, Wales/AL/Mobile/TN?/MS/LA/Winn Parish
    2. Hello, Re: JONES of Wales & poss. England/Benjamin JONES, born: late 1700s, md: ? ?, from River Dee in Wales, immigrated to America in Abt. 1802 and lived in Mobile, Alabama, owned millinery business, fur hatter by trade, he died just a few years after immigrating and wife may have married as she moved into Indian Territory I am one of these poor souls in America searching for information on a JONES ancestor named Benjamin JONES who immigrated in "Abt. 1802" "probably from Wales or England" who married a woman "whose name we don't know" but she is said to have lived on "the River Dee".....and they immigrated to Mobile, Alabama in "Abt. 1802." Now, since that gives us the whole population of men named Benjamin JONES who were possibly born England or Wales but, actually, may have been born elsewhere in the late 1700s who married a woman who was born in Wales on the River Dee in the late 1700s and immigrated sometime Abt. 1802...by golly, we've narrowed the field down extremely from simply being any man and any woman who married at anytime. My Benjamin JONES is said to have owned a millinery shop in Mobile, Alabama and to have been a "fur hatter" by trade. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin JONES were the parents of a man named Alson Bluford "Gip" JONES, born: December 19, 1805 in Tennessee or Mobile, Alabama, died: March 27, 1883 in Winn Parish, Louisiana, who married Malinda/Melinda EVANS, born: Feburary 06, 1810 in Georgia, died: September 27, 1875, md: August 31, 1825 in Rankin County, Mississippi. They were the parents of William Tunley JONES, Mary Jane JONES, Elizabeth Ann JONES, Elisha JONES, Emily JONES, Louisa JONES, Minerva JONES, John Mayfield JONES, Chloe JONES, Elias JONESm, and Alson JONES. At this time, I am trying to find any information on the Benjamin JONES and his wife who immigrated in Abt. 1802 from either England and/or Wales to Mobile, Alabama. Who were their parents? Where did they come from? When did they immigrate? And Malinda/Melinda EVANS father is said to have been named either William and/or Panther/"Panther" EVANS but his wife's name is not known either. They would have been in Georgia in 1810 and later in Jasper County, Mississippi. I believe that Williby H. EVANS who married Syntha/Cyntha A. HERRINGTON, sister of my 2nd great grandmother, Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, who married William H. "Billy" MYRICK, may have been a brother or cousin to Malinda/Melinda EVANS and, also, there is an Alson Bluford "Gip" EVANS who married Rachel BANKSTON whom I believe is, also, closely related to Malinda/Melinda EVANS. Phoebe and Syntha/Cyntha A. HERRINGTON were the daughters of my paternal 3rd great grandparents, Cynthia "Sina" GRANTHAM, and William HERRINGTON, Jr.. Alson Bluford "Gip" JONES and Malinda/Melinda EVANS were my maternal 3rd great grandparents and the parents of my 2nd great grandfather, William Tunley JONES, (CSA,) who married Martha Ann Caroline McCARTY, parents of my great grandmother, Rodella "Della" HATTEN, who married Cicero Lamkin HATTEN, parents of my maternal grandmother, Ethel Rosalie HATTEN, who 1st married Joseph Marion WOMACK, Sr., then 2nd husband, my maternal grandfather, Louis Hector "Hec(k)" SLAUGHTER. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

His wife was killed and his daughter crippled and left frail for the rest of her life. The daughter was born in 1820. Jacob and his wife had 10 children, the last being born in 1824. So some time after that. Patti
