(2nd marriage for her as AL Marriages to 1825 lists her as Mrs). 3. Gerald Byrne (b bet 1798-1799 AL) - 1830 Baldwin Co, AL 1840 Baldwin Co, AL 1870 Baldwin Co, AL 1880 Baldwin Co, AL (haven't looked at the images for 1870 & 1880 yet, but intend to do so pretty quickly) Gerald married Mary Mills 11 Oct 1824 in Mobile Co, AL according to AL Marriages to 1825. Have been conducting research on Stapletons in this county and have gotten interested in the Byrne family of the same location. There was one intermarriage between the Stapletons & the Byrnes that I am aware of which took place in 1871. Hannah Byrne (b 1845 AL) married Wilton L Stapleton 27 Feb 1871 in Baldwin Co, AL. Wilton (b 1841 Baldwin Co, AL) was the son of Morris & Joice (Joyce) Stapleton of Baldwin County. Believe based on census records that Hannah was the daughter of Peter C Byrne, son of Thomas Byrne mentioned previously.

The 1870 US Census for Mobile listed him as "Andr. Pierrot," I don't know why. His name indeed was "Anton" (on his immigration papers) or "Anthony," as you found and on his application for naturalization (in Polk County, Texas). Perhaps the enumerator made a mistake. I'm very much of two minds on whether to try to get a copy of the death certificate from Mobile County. Most early death records listed very little useful to the genealogist. We already know where and when he died. Have you any experience that might guide me?

In the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 Mobile Co., AL. Census records, I have found an Edward Hickey. In 1900 he was 54 with wife Maggie age 25 (at least it appeared to be 25) and married 10 years. There were 3 children: Edward Jr. age 18, Willie age 16, and Albert age 13. There was a Mary Joseph and an Annie Joseph living in this household. Annie was listed as Edward's mother-in-law. this census was hard to read, so the info may not be correct. In 1910 (MF Page 159B) Edward Hickey is there again age 62 born Ireland with wife Maggie age 48 and 3 children: Edward-27, William 26, and Albert age 23. However age of Maggie is different from 1900. In 1920 (MF Page 116A) Edward is age 72 with wife Margaret age 59 with William 38 and Albert 36 . In 1930 Edward is age 84 with wife Margaret age 69. Would anyone know anything about this Edward Hickey family? I am searching for an Edward Hickey who was born about 1846 in Ireland who married Mary Adeline Comstock Jones around late 1860's. they are together in the 1870 St. Francis Co., AR. census, but I can't find them after that. I'm wondering if this is not the Edward Hickey I am looking for, but maybe Mary Adeline died and he married again to this Maggie/Margaret. Judy Sanders -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
