Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TS.2ADE/1863 Message Board Post: Pam, This is wonderful that you are taking the time to appeal to people who are not aware of what is going on with ALL the Gulf Coast. Our family is doing everything we can to help all areas, including the Mississippi area. They all need help. We are collecting and sending what we can to these areas. Finding that sometimes the trucks are turned away with supplies, but we are troopers and never give up. Some of our old family homes have been distroyed, but life was spared. (thanks to GOD). As our childrens power has been restored, they are taking their generators and food to the MS Coast. With gas rations, it is not as easy for them to do this because they have to work as well. I applaud you for your effort to help those in need. Hopefully you friend forever Mary Gordon Smith P.S. If you need anything, please let me know. Will be there in a blink of the eye.

    1. Frances Rogers / Daphne Rogers Browne
    2. Al Bern
    3. I'm searching for Frances Rogers, born in Mobile in 1928 or 1927. In the 1950s, she lived in Illinois and then in Washington, DC. I don't know if (and whom) she married, and if she is still alive. Her mother, Daphne Rogers died in Mobile and was married, in her second marriage, to Herbert Browne. I'd very much appreciate any information about Frances Rigers and Daphne Rogers Browne, and the Herbert Browne family. Thanks for any information. _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected? 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: LYNCH MCDONNELL CAHILL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TS.2ADE/1858 Message Board Post: Hello, I believe that Jeremiah LYNCH (born 1839, Ireland) married Margaret CAHILL (born 1840, Ireland) in 1859. I find them living in the Mobile's First Ward in the 1860 census. However, if this is my Jeremiah LYNCH then Margaret had to have died before 27 October 1861 as this is the date that he married Honora MCDONNELL in St. Louis, Missouri. I need to find a death/burial record for Margaret. Can anyone tell me the name of a Catholic church and/or a Catholic cemetery that would have been in this ward at that time? Thank you for any help or suggestions. Sue Kelly

    1. Hurricane Katrina
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TS.2ADE/1857 Message Board Post: While New Orleans and the MS Gulf Coast are in much worse shape, both in loss of life and property, Mobile also took a major hit from hurricane Katrina. Many homes were flooded, some even destroyed, and people are desparate here for the basics of life we all take for granted. The city has ground to a halt and is under a dusk to dawn curfew. People need food, water, and gasoline. Distribution centers are starting but there is more need than supplies. In addition we are housing many refugees from New Orleans and Mississippi who cannot return home. While the power is slowly coming back on and we are starting to recover, the need will continue for a long time. If you would like to help, PLEASE make donations to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army so they can help us and our sister cities on the Gulf Coast recover quickly. And thank you for all your prayers. Mobile is a beautiful city and we will recover!
