Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TS.2ADE/113.155.779 Message Board Post: WAIT ... Let's try again. According to my records, Pierre Francois de Juzan had 2 wives. First was Catherine Parant by whom he had (at least) 3 children: Pierre Francois Juzan, Daniel Juzan (who had a spousal relationship with one of my ancestors Justine Laurent), and Marie Jeanne Josephine Juzan, b. Abt 1766, and who married Adam Hollinger on April 11, 1791 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile. Then, by his second marriage to Pelagie Loriens, he had (at least) one child: John Charles Juzan who married Peggy Traherne and had (at least) 2 children named in my previous posting. If any of info contradicts any of this, I'd like to hear from you so we could correct any errors. Thanks. AJinLA

I also have John's parents as Pierre Francois de Juzan, born March 20, 1736 and Marie Francoise Trudot/Trudeau (Sacramental Records, Archdiocese of Mobile 1704-1739). I believe he possibly had a second (or first) wife named Pelagie Loriens. Does this connect to any of your records? You may contact me at AristideL@aol.com.

As I said, Regina & MIchael Weeks had 10 kids. The two you most likely speaking of are Margaret Ruby Weeks, b. 12 Oct. 1920 and Mary Eloise Weeks, b. 5 May 1922. I don't know who the ? was since there are 8 other kids that it could be, including twins Ola & Olyn born 16 Dec. 1926. And yes, like your ancestors, my ancestors were marrying each other for years because the Catholic Church and the State government would not allow them to marry non-mixed blood peoples (though some sneaked away to the Nawth and did it anyway!).

Was the Weeks she married her first cousin? My Dad always said that they moved from Weeks Island because they were marrying first cousins but no one ever mentioned Mr. Weeks because I believe he was deceased by the time they moved to Metairie, La. sometime in the 1940's or 1950's. I know for sure that in 1952 or somewhere close around that date they were living in Metairie because they lived on the street right behind ours and we spent alot of time over there as childre. My Dad also had 3 cousins named Ruby, Mary and? Weeks. These were sisters who moved to Metairie so that the youngest, Mary sould get over her love for her first cousin who she was about to marry. None of the three girls ever married and were called old maids. Are you a part of this lineage? I am very interested in the free people of color aspect and how and when the crossover came. We have some in this line whio were free people of color at baptism but turned whte by death. We were raised Caucasians so we have little knowledge of this big family secret. Any info you have I'd be interested in and I'll be happy to share what I've learned so far. Joan Laurendine Scanlan
