    2. Eldon Wade
    3. Several people have asked that I post the results of my query as to where the applications files are stored. Here they are : I got this response from a very knowledgeable person on the Alabama List: Go to the BLM site as if you were going to look for a surname, etc. But instead of using the search form, look at the list on the left and click on "FAQ" Then click on the question in the list, "How can I get Land Entry file information for patents? " (8th question on the General Questions list) Then click on "here" in the answer for that question. This will take you to "National Archives and Records Administration, Land Entry case Files". Look just past the 7th paragraph and there is a mailing address AND an email address to request forms for ordering copies of the file. (The email address is probably quicker. I got mine in just a few days.) One can order up to six at a time, I think. I got this response from an email I sent to BLM at Dave_Henry@es.blm.gov : The casefiles (containing applications, witness statements, maps, etc.) for the GLO patents are kept by the National Archives (a separate agency) in Washington D.C. You can order them by Email at inquire@nara.gov or "snail mail" at: Old Military & Civil Records (NWCTB), National Archives & Records Administration, Room 11E, Washington D.C. 20408 Ask for form NATF 84. To fill in the form use the information from the GLO Website. Do not send money they will bill you Eldon <mailto:ewade@cfl.rr.com> mailto:ewade@cfl.rr.com Researching surnames: Hames (SC,GA,AL), Jaquess Jaquish Jaques (TN,AL), Wade (VA,SC,GA,AL)
