Marsh and his wife Susan Marsh with other Marsh families in the Blount/Marshall Co. area. I specifically need dates of birth, parentage, and date of death for Susan. Hiram H. Marsh married Susan on 5/19/1859 at the residence of Lorenzo Marsh in Marshall Co. Hiram H. and Susan Marsh do not appear on the 1860 census in either Marshall or Blount Co. Hiram and Susan Marsh had 2 children, M.J. (female) and Hiram C.(my great grandfather). Hiram H. Marsh joined Co. B, 19th Ala. Inf. Reg. at Summit, Blount Co., in Aug. 1861 and was KIA at Shiloh on 4/6/62. Susan Marsh's application for war widow's compensation was witnessed by U.S. Nesmith and Hiram Vaughan from the Summit area who claimed to be neighbors. Hiram and Susan Marsh may have also been related to a John Marsh, David Marsh, and E. L. Marsh. Susan remarried an Allen Clark in 1864 in Blount Co. but was living as a single mother on the 1870 Blount Co. census with Hiram H. Marsh's two children and one child by Clark. Susan remarried again to a John Conner in 1883 in Marshall Co. I have no further records of her after that. Any information will be appreciated.
