Does anyone know what the local newspaper (probably in the Meltonville area, near Guntersville) was called in 1893? James Childress, son of Elijah Childress, was killed while going to reposses a horse. He was shot by Bill Bell. The shooting took place on December 14, 1893. Searching for a marriage date on Watson and Crabtree circa 1858. A son John Henry born 1-03-1860 Alabama died 8-25-1939 Hughes County, Oklahoma. Certificate of death indicates mothers maiden name Malinda Watson from Tennessee. Penmanship on mothers first name is hard to read. On daughter Rebecca Jane Crabtree death certificate 1936 indicated father John Crabtree state unknown. Searching for marriage records or census dates in Tennessee and Alabama.
