She owned land in Marshall county in the Big Springs area. She built a dam and mill on the Big Spring. This was in 1840. She had known children Lydia Hodge born circa 1823, Moses Riley Weston born 1826 in Morgan county, AL and died in 1847 in the War with Mexico, and Jasper Newton Weston born circa 1833. She states she was born in Virginia. Husband may have been born in Ohio or Virginia. He could have been married before as there are rumors of children Bill and Baker Weston. Elizabeth Julia Weston built mills in Blount county, AL also. It is not known where she is died or buried.

    2. Darla Wilson Hilliard
    3. My oldest ancestor in Marshall Co. is my gggrandmother, Jemima WILSON. The earliest I can find her is on Sept 5, 1859 in Marshall Co. AL, when she marries William J. BRIGHT. According to census information Jemima WILSON BRIGHT was born ca. 1825/1832 in Alabama. There are several WILSON families in the Marshall Co. area pre 1850, but in over 10 years I have never been able to connect Jemima to them. When Jemima married William BRIGHT she already had two sons. George W.E.?, and Andrew Levi WILSON my ggrandpa. These boys are said to have never known who their father was, and to have believed they were illegitimate. Please, does any one have a WILSON family pre 1850 in and around Marshall Co. with an unidentified daughter near my Jemima's age? They had one daughter; Anna "Annie" Frances Webb b:4 Oct 1898 in Northern Alabama. Annie died on 18 May 1936 in Decatur,Morgan County,Alabama. We have not been able to find out anything about Annie's mother, Ella Wilson. Annie married John Lee Brown in 1915. The Brown family was from Morgan, Marshall, Blount and Marshall Counties, Alabama. So chances are the Wilson family that Ella belongs to was from somewhere in that area. Would anyone have a clue as to who Ella Wilson was?

    1. Re: [ALMARSHA] Roe MOORE
    2. Roe had a brother named James, born abt. 1893. Their parents were John Calvin MOORE, born April, 1873, in Randolph County, Alabama, and Elizabeth HALE, born January, 1873. Both Roe and James were born in Randolph County, but the family moved to Marshall County some time after 1900. I believe they lived in the Guntersville area. Not sure about that. John Calvin MOORE also had a brother named James, born July, 1868. James also moved to Marshall County (by 1900) in the Red Apple community (which I think is in the Boaz area). James was known to my grandmother as Uncle Buddy. He married Mollie (maiden name unknown) and they had William A., b. June, 1890, and an adopted daughter, Charlcie SWAN, b. abt. 1904. William married Ethel (maiden name unknown) about 1908 and had a child, Willie B., born abt. Nov. 1909. Both James and John Calvin may have had more children of which I am not aware. The parents of John Calvin and James were Archibald Judge MOORE and Rebecca (maiden name unknown). Let me know if you see a connection. Pam
