    1. [ALMARSHA] BAUGH
    2. BAUGH -1804 I am seeking information about my BAUGH ancestors that lived in Marshall County, AL. The oldest BAUGH ancestor I have anything on is Reuben BAUGH. Reuben was born in VA in 1804 and later lived in TN. His wife died while he was living there and he was left with two little girls named Sarah and Elizabeth. Reuben built a raft and loaded all his belonging on it and floated down the Tennessee River until he got to Gunterville, AL. That story has been passed down through the generations. Reuben is on the census records as being a carpenter. I also have a marriage record where he was serving as a JP in Marshall County. My great grandfather was Thomas R. BAUGH was born in 1863, in Marshall County, AL and married Melinda (Kate) WINDSOR in the same county. They had three sons and Melinda died. Thomas married for the second time to Frances (Fanny) Holbrooks, my great grandmother. Sometime after 1900, Thomas moved over to GA looking for a better life. The three oldest sons stayed in AL and I have relatives living there today that descended from them. Their names were Silas, Fernalla (Nal), and Norman Lester BAUGH. Thanks, David L Baugh Griffin, GA
