There was a Rufus B. Dickenson from Marion Co., AL who served in the 1st AL Cav. USV from Marion Co., AL. He was born about 1843. One Muster Roll stated he died 01 May 1864 in Decatur but another one stated he mustered out 10/20/1865 in Huntsville, AL. There is a searchable roster at: http://www.1stalabamacavalryusv.com/ for all the men who served in the 1st AL and you can see the other Dickensons who served in this regiment. We are researching all of the men who fought for the 1st AL Cav. US and their families. If you have any information to share on them, especially where they are buried or pictures of their them and their tombstones, please send it to: autumnedge@charter.net Let's keep the memories of ALL Civil War Veterans alive.
