You are welcome, We have never found out the names of Odom/Odum Crane's parents. Also I have a copy of a "John Bartly Crane"'s death cert. His Father was Bailey Henderson Crane and Mother was Elizabeth Rainy/Rainey. His wife was named ELLA. John Bartly died 09-20-1942, Jefferson Co,AL, buried in Warrior, Cane Creek Cem, AL. Does these names sound familiar?? I have this in my research papers thinking it could be kin to my Crane family. But have never been able to make the connection. I have a webpage with Tribalpages, and have alot of Crane/Crain family in it,,,if you would like to see it contact me at vida_l@sbclgobal.net Regards, Linda Beasley-Vida Sharon Crane <scrane52@hotmail.com> wrote: Thank you! William Carrol Crane was the oldest child of Bartley and Mahala (MNU) he was born somewhere in Tennessee about 1835. I will have to get the exact date to you later. Bartley and Mahala moved to St. Clair County Alabama at Kelley's Creek in the Coosa Valley. They had fourteen children. William's next sibbling was Marquis Lafayette Crane. They served in the Civil War together. William and Marquis moved to Marion County Alabama after the Civil War. Marquis and William C moved to Marion County after the Civli War. Marquis had a son named William. William C had a son named Marcus Lafayette Marcus Lafayette was my great grandfather. This is confusing isn't it? William C. eventually moved to Smithville, (Mississippi??) He first was married to Laura then to Sarah. Marcus Lafayette settled in Pontotoc County Mississippi with possibly two of his youngest sibblings. General and George. I have more information but not with me at the moment. I will search for specifics to help you. I have ran across the name ODOM Crane but I don't remember the connection. Who were his parents? On different census my Bartley states he is born in Kentucky, South Carolina and I think Tennessee. I have been searching for years for Bartley's parents and his wife's maiden name. I would really like some source instead of just what someone thinks. Like a marriage certificate, will, land grant, or something, if available. I live in East Tennessee, near Knoxville, so I can't get to Marion County to find this information.
