She was buried in the Itasca Cemetery, Itasca, Hill County, Texas. The inscription on her tombstone reads, "No Pain, No Grief, No Anxious Fear, Can Reach The Peaceful Sleeper Here." Nancy married John Parker Lewis about 1855 in Alabama. He was born 02 Oct 1833, and died 06 Jul 1889 in Franklin County, Alabama. He is buried in the Bonds Cemetery in Franklin County, Alabama beside his daughter, Francis, and her husband William Joseph McCalpin. The inscription on his tombstone reads, "Gone to a Bright Home, Where Grief Cannot Come." This information came from the Franklin County, Alabama Heritage Book printed in 1999. Articles on the Lewis family furnished by Tammy Dobbs, 1031 Whipoorwill Circle, Russellville, Alabama 35654. My husband and I visited the Itasca Cemetery November 7, 2002 and photographed Nancy's marker. We hoped to find other family members buried near Nancy, but did not.
